Founded in 2015, Josephine & Mim was born out of a love of textiles, creativity, vintage and antiques.
Josephine & Mim are two of my grandmothers that were very influential in my life and to name my shop after them came to me very easily. I have always dreamed of owning my own business and I absolutely love what I do.
I’m an old soul, I love tradition, I love history and all of these attributes fuel my passion for scouring flea markets, antique shops and thrift stores for soulful objects that capture my eye and my heart. Everything that I curate I love. Because we live in such a throwaway society these days, I believe it is up to those of us that love objects of the past continue to recycle and preserve what may otherwise find its way to a landfill.
You will always find a variety of items in my shop. I curate and create based on a how I’m feeling and what kinds of styles move me at any point in time. At this time, many of the items available in my shop are one of a kind or of a limited supply.
I’ve been sewing for over 20 years, concentrating mainly in garment making, which I get from my mother. I have recently taken on my grandmother’s affinity for sewing pillows and tote bags. I absolutely adore textiles and I am passionate about making beautiful, tactile goods for others to enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by – I hope you like what you see!
